There are two great things that instantly spring to mind when we think of the beautiful village of Somersham – the first being the very pretty nature reserve, in which you can meander through the Cambridgeshire countryside leading to green fields and lakes, and then onto the old Somersham railway track.

And the second is – of course – Parkhall Garden Centre

With all things being green at NFEST this year, we contacted John Rigby, owner of Parkhall, asking for a donation for our Grand Prize Draw. John came back to us right away to say they’d love to donate a seasonal garden bundle:

“Yes, of course! I like to support many local schools, gardening clubs and one-off fundraising and charity events because these people are also our existing customers who support us. It’s just giving a little back to people who live and work in our area and who give up a lot of their time helping others.”

So, what does Parkhall Garden Centre have to offer?

Well, it proudly remains an independent family-run retail site. They pride themselves on selling an extensive variety of bee loving plants & trees, bird and insect friendly garden essentials. The staff are on hand to give you expert advice on all aspects of plant care and once you’ve finished selecting your plants there’s the delectable Hollies Tea Room to have a cup of tea a slice of cake and a well deserved break to think about planting up your garden!

It’s definitely worth following Parkhall on Facebook as they often run free-to-enter competitions. Also, checkout their website as it provides plenty of useful information about plants and how to make the most of your visit.

And finally, thank you John and Team. We look forward to seeing you at NFEST on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July!
