Everyone at NFEST would like to say a huge thank you to St Ives’ Cuckoo Bridge Nursery for their generous contribution to this year’s Festival Prize Draw.

Head of House Ellen told us they were delighted to be able to give a seasonal garden bundle to help support the Festival this year – and were especially delighted to see environmental issues high up on our agenda.

Once a commercial nursery, now open to the public

You may well have heard of Cuckoo-Bridge Nursery or passed their signpost on the way towards Somersham – but have you ever popped in and taken a look at their vast display of plants and wondered why they have such huge greenhouses?

Cuckoo Bridge are one of the biggest suppliers of wholesale plants to retailers across the UK, but like many businesses had to make major changes in 2019 when Covid struck – a quarter of a million plants were ready for transport but within days of lockdown coming in, all the orders were all cancelled.

Not wanting their plants to go to waste, they quickly pivoted by creating an online pop-up shop and supporting schools by supplying fruit and veg sourced from local farmers. This worked so well that once conditions allowed they decided to open their doors to the public for the first time.

Make a visit to Cuckoo Bridge!

If you have not already visited, pop into Cuckoo Bridge to see their huge range of plants – you won’t be disappointed! You can also check them out on Facebook or visit their website for the latest deals and top tips on how to plant up your garden.

Thank you once again for your support Cuckoo Bridge!
